Description
: We
have reached the fort's entrance brigde but came down the
stairs to take a look at the protective double wall system. From the
moat we can see the magnitude of the military construction. Walls at
this point reach 20 feet in width. Unlike medieval castles, the moat
was meant to be dry. It was a formidable obstacle designed to stop any
attack by land.
